Preszler Woodshop:
Goal: The client requested a package that would elevate the release of their book 'Little and Often'. I took the clients business of building bespoke canoes and tied their four tenets: Wood, Water, Sky, and Life, to create a design that was simple but fully captured the essence of the client.

I utilized some of the photography seen on Trent Preszler's website to illustrate the four aspects of his woodworking, as well as a rough paper texture to call back to the cover of his book, 'Little and Often'. For the inside of the box I used the same logo from the top, on the bottom of the box, and an image of Trent in one of his canoes is seen on the top.

ChemTech Rodeo Box
Option 1
Goal: Create a box that would give the receiver the fun and nostalgia of being at one of the largest rodeos in America. This was one of two options that was sent to the client, this being an option that more literally reflects the aspects of a rodeo.

While creating this design my goal was to have a continuous wrap around the sides that complimented the design of the top. The shadows of the cacti and mesa all point away from the sun, giving the sense of a complete landscape.

ChemTech Rodeo Box
Option 2
Goal: Create a box that would give the receiver the fun and nostalgia of being at one of the largest rodeos in America. This was the second option that was sent to the client, this being an option that sought to lean into luxury and grandiosity. This option was selected by the client.

With luxury being the main goal for this design, I took inspiration from bandana designs and turned them into filigree for the corners of the top, and illustrated a cattle skull that has that same pattern inside of it. A leather texture is seen all over the box with "flower buds" and "leaves" from a paisley pattern as a reference back to the bandana pattern on top.

Rural Business Innovators Box
Goal: Design a box that contained materials, provided by a resource center, to educate and champion startups and small businesses in rural Iowa.

I was given free reign to do what I wanted with this design, only the logo of the Rural Business Innovators to work from. I thought the filament of the lightbulb could be used for some sort of pattern/texture, so I implemented that on the sides of the box, and made random filaments gray/silver for a visual break in the repetition.
